Licenses, Rifles and Trophy Shipping for Hunting in Spain
Everything logistical, answered: licenses, firearms, insurance, CIC scoring and getting the trophy home.
The hunting is the easy part to picture; hunters ask us most about the logistics. Here is the practical side of a Spanish hunt, all of it handled for you.
Licenses and insurance
International hunters need a regional hunting license (Spain's regions issue their own) and mandatory liability insurance. We arrange both before you arrive — you don't file anything yourself.
Bring your rifle, or use ours
You can bring your own rifle with the correct temporary import and transit permits, or use a quality rifle provided by the outfitter. Most visiting hunters, especially on a first trip, prefer a provided rifle to skip firearm paperwork and airline hassle.
How trophies are scored: CIC
European trophies are measured with the CIC system, not Boone & Crockett or SCI. A good operator estimates the CIC score in the field and quotes the trophy fee by band before you shoot — so pricing is clear in advance. See our cost guide.
Taxidermy and shipping home
After the hunt the trophy is prepared — caped, treated and, if you wish, mounted — and shipped with the correct veterinary and legal-origin documents. Because the Iberian species are non-CITES, import to Mexico, the US and elsewhere is straightforward; we coordinate with your customs broker at destination.
One point of contact
From license to landed trophy, you deal with one organiser on the ground in Spain — no foreign-agency layer, clean net pricing.
