Frequently asked questions
Do I need a CITES permit to bring the trophy to Mexico?
For the usual Iberian species — ibex, red deer, mouflon, fallow deer, wild boar and chamois — no, because they are not CITES-listed. The trophy travels on a veterinary certificate and legal-origin documents; on the Mexican side the key items are SENASICA's animal-health rules and a customs broker. We handle it for you.
Can I bring my own rifle, or is one provided?
Both. You can bring your rifle with the correct temporary permits, or use a quality rifle provided by the outfitter — which most hunters prefer on a first trip to avoid firearm paperwork.
How much does it cost and what's included?
Hunts are quoted as a daily rate plus a CIC-band trophy fee, plus Spain's 21% VAT. They usually include guiding, lodging, meals, licences, insurance and export paperwork. See our cost guide and request a bespoke quote.
When is the best time to go?
Ibex is hunted mainly November to April; the red stag rut runs mid-September to mid-October; montería runs October to February. Exact dates are set by each region each year.
