Four ibex in one country
Spain is the only place on earth to hunt the Spanish ibex, and it comes in four varieties: Beceite, Gredos, Ronda and Sierra Nevada. The grand slam can be completed in one trip or across seasons.
No CITES layer
Ibex, red deer, fallow deer, mouflon, wild boar and chamois are not CITES-listed. The trophy travels on a veterinary health certificate and legal-origin documents — far simpler than a CITES African trophy.
Your rifle or ours
Bring your own rifle on a temporary import authorisation, which we arrange, or use a quality rifle from the outfitter. Most hunters choose the latter on a first trip.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a CITES permit to bring the trophy to the USA?
For the usual Iberian species — ibex, red deer, fallow deer, mouflon, wild boar and chamois — no: they are not CITES-listed. On arrival in the US, wildlife imports are declared to the US Fish & Wildlife Service (Form 3-177) at a designated port, and USDA/APHIS has sanitary requirements depending on whether the trophy arrives raw or finished. We prepare the Spanish paperwork and coordinate with your US broker or taxidermist.
How is the trophy scored? I use SCI and Boone & Crockett.
In Europe the standard is the CIC system, which combines measurements with beauty points and penalties and determines the medal (bronze, silver, gold). Your guide estimates the score in the field before the shot, so you decide with the fee band already known.
Can I bring my rifle from the USA?
Yes, with the temporary firearm import authorisation we arrange, plus your US customs paperwork for taking it out and bringing it back. The alternative — what most hunters choose on a first trip — is to use an outfitter rifle, already zeroed and with the right ammunition.
When is the best time to travel?
It depends on the species: ibex is hunted September to May depending on the subspecies, the red stag rut runs mid-September to October, and montería and driven partridge run October to February–March. See the month-by-month calendar.
How much walking is involved? What fitness is needed?
Mountain stalking is demanding, but it adapts: in Gredos we hunt areas suited to every level and use horse support when the terrain calls for it. Tell us your level when we design the trip and we choose the ground accordingly.
